To the naval officers of Ukraine
Dear friends!
Let me congratulate you on your professional holiday – the Day of Ukrainian Marine Corps!
During the military aggression of the Russian Federation in Crimea in March this year our sea soldiers, holding their own to the last, have heroically resisted the enemy that predominated them dozens of times.
Owing to your exceptional courage and steadfastness, we managed to gain time necessary to restore the army and organize country’s protection. Both today, naval infantry decently defend our state by performing the most responsible and dangerous tasks in the ATO zone.
Active duty officers and veterans of the marine addressed me in March, since it turned out that we have no Marine Corps Day. We do not have the day but we do have the heroes. That is why on March 31, 2014, I, the then Acting President of Ukraine, signed a decree on establishing the Marine Corps Day.
Ukraine is proud of its heroes! Happy holiday, dear naval infantry!
